About
“It’s all about being united…..”
OK, so we’re not going to the moon. But we are chasing the Midnight Sun and we are facing a tight time frame.
We are the Saabs United Historic Rally Team. My name is Jörgen Trued and along with my co-driver and partner in this adventure, Bo Janzon, I’d like to welcome you to our website and our challenge. We have just begun our journey and invite you join us. Our plan is to build either one, maybe even two, Saab 99 Turbos to compete in the Rally of the Midnight Sun, the historic Swedish Rally, in 2010. You can read more about the event here, and more about the car we are building here.
What we’d like to do is give the SAAB enthusiast community around the world an opportunity to unite in a common project to show some pride and strength in the Saab brand. We’d like you to be part of re-creating a lost piece of history.
Bo and I will put in the big physical workload and bring this project together, but to ease our burden we will need some support. We invite the whole Saab world to participate in, and support this project – from the nuts and bolts to bigger pieces of equipment or with finance. We promise that You will have Your name on the cars somewhere.
The time schedule is tough – less then a year. We plan to run the team in next year’s Rally to the Midnight Sun and hopefully an International Saab Festival in Trollhättan.
We are pleased that Swade and Eggs at SaabsUnited.com have agreed to participate in the project. Using the great name SaabsUnited is appropriate as that is what it is all about – being united towards a common goal. Lets make the car/cars an everlasting reminder of the energy that Saab people posess, even if we face hard times.
We look forward to providing you with a great story over the next 10-12 months. The story of building a few fantastic cars, and running them in the greatest Swedish historic rally of them all. And maybe a little more.
I hope we capture your imagination and look forward to your support.
